Today, I will be answering all of these questions for you plus more with the complete unbiased truth about BoingVert.
One of the most popular and hottest products on the market, but does BoingVert truly provide you with results?

What is Boingvert?
BoingVert is a vertical jump training program that promises you a “MASSIVE” increase to your vertical leap.
BoingVert uses a combination of two different types of jump programs to give its audience a chance to have more options available.
These are the two different types of jump programs they provide:
- “Animal” Program – plyometrics-only
- “Monster” Program – strength-oriented
As of today recently they have replaced the “Monster” program and replaced it with “SAVAGE” which is basically the same program but with different wording.
*UPDATE* They added a new program where Dumbbells are required. They call this program Method X.
BoingVert is a vertical jump training program that was released back in 2011. This program was most likely created because of all the success Jacob Hiller’s The Jump Manual received a year before. During that time there was really no competition for The Jump Manual, so you could most surely tell that the creators of BoingVert used this opportunity to add themselves in the race and give The Jump Manual, a competitor.
You may have heard about BoingVert from social media, such as YouTube for example. The reason why BoingVert is so special and popular is because of the way they marketed their program. At release, BoingVert made a very strong impression on YouTube as the creators of the program made a STRONG marketing push and it’s honestly the biggest reason why BoingVert is so popular. The creators did a very good job with the marketing of the program. Even as of today, you can easily find hundreds of hundreds of promotions and dunk reels.
BoingVert is actually very popular and at first glance, it seems like a legit product. BoingVert is admired by many jumpers around the world. BoingVert has actually been recommended by professionals.
The “Animal” program roughly lasts around 16 weeks, and the “Monster” program roughly adds an additional 11 weeks. Note that both of these packages are offered separately. With this program, you are highly recommended to take some time to rest and cool down for at least 2-3 weeks between the two different programs – if you decide to get both – to get the most out of the program, maximize your results, and allow your body to recover.
There is a chance you may be coming from my article on Jump Training Programs to Avoid or my other article Top 3 Vertical Jump Programs In 2020. You may be wondering what makes BoingVert so bad, and what makes it so good.
Why BoingVert?
Now the question you may be asking is, WHY BOINGVERT?
Well… BoingVert has been getting a lot of attention throughout the years and has been because of its successful marketing and promotion when the product first launched.
There are hundreds of hundreds of athletes online who swear that BoingVert is truly effective.
But when you actually go and search online about BoingVert, you will hardly find any information available in regards to what the program really is.
If you go to the BoingVert website, you will see that it hardly provides any information, and you will also notice very few details.
BoingVERT lives and dies by its marketing
That is why I believe that BoingVert decided not to keep much information on their site, probably because their successful marketing is already doing the job for them.
Pretty much everything you need to know, you can find through YouTube, or myself. Everything you need to know is summed up in this video below:
They have so many videos up on YouTube and if you enter their channel, you can see that they are still uploading even as of today.
The truth is even though that their marketing on YouTube and social media is so successful, there are still so many people out there who are left clueless about the program, and that leaves people second-guessing BoingVert
This is where I come in to lend you a helping hand
In order to provide you with the best results, I dug up everything I possibly could about BoingVert in order to answer all of your questions. I even went on to purchase the program to see if it truly works for myself. I have a lot of experience with vertical jump programs, so I can most certainly tell, even just by looking at the program’s workouts itself, to know whether it would be effective or not. To get the full experience, I even purchased the Monster + Animal package to see what’s truly hidden inside the program.
*UPDATE* notice that I tried this program a few years back before they updated their site and added in a new option called Method X and updated “Monster” to “Savage”.
First Impressions
When I first enter the website, they get right down to the business. There isn’t much information to go on, and they just get straight down to the business.
There is very little information as soon as you enter the welcome page. All you see are some words, and a video describing BoingVert.
When you first enter their site, you are greeted with the following message:
GAIN UP TO 12 INCHES in 12 WEEKS*
Notice that this is seen in basically every vertical jump program, and although some are true, most aren’t.
After the video, you are greeted with the three new options, including the newly updated one in 2020. Note that you have to buy each one separately now, rather when they last updated their site, they had a package to get the two main ones.
DID YOU KNOW? Over 150,000 athletes have used some type of BoingVERT program.
You should know that before they recently updated the site, they did have some more information, including a HUGE list of exercises with multiple categories. It turns out that they simplified it even more than it already was. I was shocked to see the newly updated site because I didn’t expect them to take a backward approach. You should know that for each package they do offer, they have a learn more section which is actually great, so that is something I do love about the site.
Now some people do like a simplified site, but for most, it is better to have a site with more information, so you can actually know what you are buying.
Compared to other successful programs like The Jump Manual or Vert Shock, the BoingVert site clearly has nothing to offer with its site compared to those two other vertical jump programs.

BoingVert Creators
For those of you who aren’t familiar with weight training, and in this case vertical training, these two names are most certainly not going to sound familiar at all.
You should know that both these people have successfully been working as coaches and trainers for a very long time with an excellent reputation.
Shawn Myszka
Shawn has been certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and he is also the co-founder and Athletic Performance Director of Explosive Edge Athletics, which offers SPORT-specific training and development. Explosive Edge Athletics has trained some of the best athletes Minnesota has to offer.
Let’s just say he knows exactly what he is doing, and he knows what he is talking about.
Shawn is also the MAIN person behind BoingVert.
Kelly Baggett
Let’s not forget about his partner in crime, Kelly Baggett. The MONSTER program was actually done in collaboration with Kelly Baggett who is a certified trainer who has a lot of experience with strength training.
Kelly has a big reputation within the vertical jump community, and he is also the creator of the popular book, “Vertical Jump Bible”.
Although this book is outdated in many ways, it is still considered to be a great book and influential to many vertical jump experts in today’s world.
To have someone like Kelly on the BoingVert team, should truly help you feel a little more comfortable about what BoingVert truly has to offer.
Ryan Moody
BoingVert had acquired a new member of their team. It just so happens that this person is behind the new experimental program that BoingVert is providing called Method X.
What makes Ryan Moody so special is that he holds the WORLD RECORD for the HIGHEST box jump in history.
Ryan has been a huge contributor to the Health & Fitness industry for over a decade. He is known for his EXPLOSIVE athleticism. Ryan has gone out to also win MULTIPLE world records with both Guinness and the World Records Academy in various jumping feats.

BoingVert Structure
BoingVert is a vertical jump training program that consists of THREE different options to choose from.
I have personally first hand have tried TWO out of the THREE options. To really evaluate if BoingVert actually works, we have to go through each option separately.
BoingVert Animal
The ANIMAL program is the biggest portion of the BoingVert training and it is the first one you should look to get. This option known as Animal, it focuses exclusively on plyometrics and body-weight exercises.
NO WEIGHTS NEEDED
However, you will need a bench, but you can find something else to substitute a bench pretty easily.
The great part about this specific program is that you can do it just about anywhere you want, whether that’s at a park, or somewhere in your house. You can do it WHEREVER YOU WANT. This was very useful during the coronavirus (COVID-19) Lockdown.
Although the site may not seem to have a lot of information, once you actually purchase the program, you are greeted with a lot of information. The first thing you should do when purchasing the Animal program is to read the manual they provide called the Animal Philosophy.
This is an eBook that is 32 pages long, that goes through the entire background of the program. It is the general breakdown of what it is about with key factors to jumping higher.
The eBook explains a lot, including some of the key components of vertical jumping such as landing, absorption, etc.
It also goes on to explain other things that are not emphasized as much in other programs, such as proper footwear and training surfaces as just some examples.
After going through this eBook, you can jump in straight into the good stuff, which is known as the Animal Workout Log.
In this section, it shows you the different phases of the program and it outlines all the workouts you have to do each day throughout the entirety of the program which is 16 WEEKS!
It is also important to note that Plyometrics is very important for any vertical jump program out there, so if BoingVert decides to use them, it shows that they know what they are doing.
The Animal option is 16 weeks long, and it is made up of SIX phases that are roughly around 2-3 weeks each.
Here are some examples of what to expect from each phase:
1) General Body Preparation
During this phase, you are going to just be preparing your body for what you need to face in the upcoming stages. It is more of a PRE-GAME than the actual start of THE GAME. It is all about improving your stability and making sure that you can perform the exercises in future phases, safely.
2) Jump Mastery (I)
In the second phase, you will learn more about movement patterns and this will help you determine your vertical jump ceiling. How high you can truly jump, and what your peak really is. During this phase, your muscles will learn to work better together so that your body can truly reach its peak with your jump
3) Force Absorption
In the third phase of this program, the exercises in this phase will focus on teaching your body how to get more accustomed to the HUGE amounts of force that jumping will bring. These exercises will focus on stability and absorption.
4) Jump Acceleration
In the fourth phase, it will help build more on the previous phases of this program. It will emphasize it even more.
This phase will also help you improve your jump acceleration by increasing the rate of force used.
5) Reactive Emphasis
With the fifth phase, this program helps you develop reactive strength.
If you develop reactive strength, it will help you improve your ability to start, stop, and change direction while jumping. Its goal is to basically improve your jump form which is VERY IMPORTANT.
I would like to warn you beforehand, that this phase is the most difficult. You need to be ready to push your body to the limit as these are the most intense plyometric exercises.
6) Jump Mastery (II)
In the last and final phase, you should know that it is sort of similar to phase two where it will revolve around improving jump technique and efficiency. In this phase, you will learn to master it, and it will get more ADVANCED.
These will be the final weeks of the program, and here you will learn to maximize the vertical jump gains that you had achieved in previous weeks. It will also focus on injury prevention which again is very important.
With all of these six phases, you should expect to be training around 2-4 times per week. You need to prepare to work a heavy load.
Remember, nothing is given to you on a platter. You need to work for it, and you need to be ready for these heavy workloads.
While the exercises in the Animal option do not require any use of weights, the intensity and the number of reps you are required to use, is just CRAZY INTENSE, and it is almost impossible to follow for just any person, especially someone who is already playing in a season.
If you are looking for a program that can find a balance between providing you EXCELLENT results and a good workload you should be interested in checking out Vert Shock instead.
With BoingVert, there are just simply too many exercises to keep track of and honestly, some of them even overlap. You may find yourself overtraining and this could cause issues. This is why I would look at Vert Shock as an alternative, because it is just more well-rounded and it is a far superior program to BoingVert.
One of the good things about BoingVert is how the program is based on science, and the program also goes DEEP into why and how it all works.

BoingVert Monster
It is important to know that BoingVert has recently renamed BoingVert Monster to BoingVert SAVAGE or BoingVert Weightroom.
This program was designed in collaboration with Kelly Baggett.
The Monster program builds on to the Animal Program, and it gives you another option for those who do have weights or access to the gym. This program introduces strength-based training to maximize your vertical. Personally, I would recommend this package if you have access to weights or the gym because strength-based training is more effective.
It is also great to know that included with this package is BoingVert Animal, so this may be the option to choose if you want the ENTIRE package. Air Warfare is also included and it was created at Harvard University.
BoingVert Monster contains four phases and it is a 12-week program.
Here is what you can expect with each phase:
1) Adaptation and Activation
During this phase, you are going to just be preparing your body for what you need to face in the upcoming stages. It is more of a PRE-GAME than the actual start of THE GAME similar to the Animal part of the program. With this phase, you are preparing your body for the TOUGH weight training that follows. You are going to start by gradually working your muscles and getting them accustomed to the new movements and weight resistance
2) General Strength
In the second phase, it starts off with some basic weight room exercises and it will help you develop a foundation of strength, which is really good as it helps you build towards the next phase.
3) Max Strength and Power
In the third phase of this program, at this point, you should feel comfortable enough with strength training exercises, and at this point, you will work towards combining plyometric exercises with the strength movements you have learned in previous phases.
This phase will be the MOST INTENSE phase from the Monster program, but just know that it will also be the most rewarding.
4) Max Power
In the final phase, this is where you are expected to achieve the MOST vertical jump gains. This is where you get your money’s worth.
In this final phase, expect the volume and intensity of the exercises to slow down and become lighter. Your body should begin to feel accustomed to all the exercises and it should take advantage of everything you have done.
In this MONSTER program, you will be training roughly around 2-3 times per week, and the intensity will differ throughout each phase.
Everything is pretty straightforward and as long as you follow everything step-by-step, you should expect to see results. Everything is easy to follow.
If you want an alternative to this package, I would honestly recommend looking at Vert Shock. It is another vertical jump program and it is entirely designed for strength-based training and to help your vertical jump increase more efficiently. I would say that it is a more COMPLETE program and it is shorter.

Method X
BoingVert added a program called Method X. This program is currently going through experimental stages, and I just want to say that I have not tried out this option yet but what I can say, is that it looks different and unique.
Method X actually means short for experimental. This program was created by a world box jump record holder named Ryan Moody. This program launched in April 2020. According to the creator, the gains in this specific program had been EXTREME in the testing stages.
It is pretty cool to see that they are looking to try out something different and challenging. Most other vertical jump programs don’t really add anything new like this.
With this program, Ryan has done all the research, and he believes that he has found a way to help you jump higher.
According to Ryan, the method behind this program is something called a “Chain-Whip”. This program is apparently supposed to turn your body into a “whip” so that you SNAP off the ground. According to Ryan, this is COMPLETELY NEW, and there is nothing like this on the market. With this program, Dumbbells are required so you do need to know that.
I can’t say much because I have not tried it personally, but what I can say is that I am very optimistic about it and I would love to try it someday whenever I can get access to a dumbbell. I would love to go on about Method X, but the truth is, I feel like you should learn from the expert, so make sure to click on the METHOD X image above to learn more about the program from the creator himself.
BoingMINIS
BoingVert interestingly enough, comes with a lot of extra bonuses. With each separate package, they all come with different bonuses. The ANIMAL program is the only one that comes with a limited amount while the other two come with all of them. Instead of going on and explaining everything about each BoingMINIS, I have included a screenshot below of all the different BoingMINIS and what they are.
BoingVert Pros and Cons
BoingVert Pros
- No Gym Equipment and Fees Required or Necessary – one of the greatest things about BoingVert is that you don’t need to spend any extra money on any sort of gym equipment or gym membership at all. They offer a separate program that does not require any sort of gym equipment and this is very important, especially during the Corona lockdown (COVID-19). Another great alternative is most certainly Vert Shock, which also does not require weights, and is much superior than BoingVert.
- Philosophy is In-Depth – The creators of BoingVert clearly know exactly what they are talking about when it comes to vertical jump training. This is clearly seen throughout the program. They explain everything in depth. They go through how the program works and why it works. They also include extras where most other vertical jump programs don’t really have like wearing the right shoes, absorbing contact, cooling down, etc. The only other program to really compete with BoingVert in terms of this much information is The Jump Manual
- Flexibility – One of the greatest things about BoingVert is how you have a lot of flexibility to choose from. When you are first buying the program, you are given the option of picking between three different programs. You can make do with just getting one of them, or you can save some money and get both of the main programs plus all bonuses for a discounted price. You can get by with just getting one of them as well. You get to pick between a program that is designed to work with weights or without.
- Cost – out of all the vertical jump programs out there, I would say BoingVert is one of the most COST FRIENDLY. This program is relatively cheap compared to other vertical jump programs. The most you are going to spend is probably $30 and that is including everything they have to offer. If you are looking to buy The Animal package, for example, it would only cost you around $17 currently which is a bargain compared to other vertical jump programs. However, you need to know that although the price is lower, the quality comes along with it. It is not refined and polished like Vert Shock and The Jump Manual. If you are looking for the cheapest, pick BoingVert, but if you are able to spend more, look towards Vert Shock or The Jump Manual as they are far superior.
- Mobile-Friendly – Nowadays, everyone is running around with their phones and it is critical that you get some sort of phone support. Out of all the other vertical jump programs, BoingVert is the most mobile-friendly compared to the others. It is more convenient on the go. Everything fits easily and it is like it was made for the phone.
- Professional Trainers – It is quite simple. BoingVert is a vertical jump program made by professionals. People who have built a reputation as trainers and who have helped many people achieve MAXIMUM potential.
- Support – I have not used this feature myself because I didn’t really need to but they do offer very good support if you need it
- Comprehensive Instructional Exercise Videos – The exercise videos in the program are both short and to the point. They are VERY easy to follow and everything is up to date. You may notice that some videos are out of date, but they have recently been updating the programs with newer HD videos. Everything is explained really well and it’s good to have a video for help rather than just words. However, it is important to know that the videos are VERY SLOW to load, and can only be accessed through the member’s area which means they can’t be accessed online

BoingVert Cons
- Unfinished Product – Now I am going to be honest with you. One of the biggest problems with BoingVert is that it just feels like an unfinished product. There is a lot of good information and everything behind the program is excellent, but everything just seems scattered and so much is just going on. It just isn’t refined or polished the way vertical jump programs like Vert Shock and The Jump Manual are. BoingVert has a ton of good information, the exercises are solid and based on scientific principles, but the program just feels too scattered and unfinished. It just has a lack of structure.
- EXTRA LONG – one of the biggest problems about this program is how it is just SO LONG. This program can take up to 30 weeks in total and that is just WAY too much. Instead of wasting your time here you could be trying better and proven vertical jump programs like The Jump Manual or even Vert Shock which is one of the best vertical jump programs while also being one of the shortest.
- Hard Work Required – but at the same time, I mean you shouldn’t expect a skill like this to come easy.
- Impossible to do during In-Season – In this program, the intensity is just so high and with that being said, it is almost impossible to keep up with this program during the season without getting seriously injured. It takes almost more than SEVEN months to fully complete it, and you can get gravely injured if you are doing any sort of sports activity while doing this program. Your body is going to constantly be tired and the stress on your body WILL increase the risk of injury. I would recommend looking at proven plyometric-based programs such as Vert Shock.
- Bad Layout – it is hard to use this program on a daily basis because of the layout. You have to be able to see both the workout log and the exercise videos and it is almost impossible to do both at the same time unless you choose to print out the entire workout log which is like hundreds of pages.
- ONLINE ONLY – note that you can’t access this program without the internet. You can’t access it offline, you have to access it online only through the internet. This could hurt some people for sure and it does suck.
- Not enough explanation – although they do a good job of explaining other things, they do a bad job of explaining each individual exercise and what their value is to the program. This may not be too bad but it does suck.
- Animal and Monster don’t work well together – They have nothing to do with each other and honestly, if you do one of them, you feel like you have to try another, and that means spending more money. The monster program just feels like an add-on to the animal program as well.
- Complicated Workouts
Verdict
BoingVert is honestly both a GOOD vertical jump program and a BAD vertical jump program. It both works and doesn’t work.
BoingVert may be scattered and may feel unfinished, but the other parts work well. The creator, Shawn Myszka, does a good job of putting a good vertical jump training philosophy that works and covers the essentials. It is all explained well through science and it works.
However, BoingVert just doesn’t feel like a finished product. It just isn’t refined enough and everything just feels scattered. It feels like I am reading a boring textbook and that is not what you want, trust me.
There are just WAY TOO MANY exercises, IT IS WAY TOO LONG, and the workouts are VERY intense. It just feels like they cluster in all of these exercises and just sort of platter them in these workouts you have to follow. The program is unnecessarily long, when proven programs such as Vert Shock and The Jump Manual are both shorter and better.
The difficulty of this program is also a lot harder than both Vert Shock and The Jump Manual.
Again, it is also good to note that if you are in-season or are an active athlete, you can’t really do a program like this. If you choose to do this during an off-season for example, you can take it into consideration, otherwise you must stay away and look for alternatives.
I have talked to many people about BoingVert and have tried the program for myself. The people that I have talked to have said that although the program did help them increase their vertical by a few inches, it just takes up a lot of time with minimal value. I am told that it just feels like an unfinished product. It just feels clustered and compared to its competitors, you can definitely do better.
Overall it’s a program where the cons outweigh the pros. With programs such as The Jump Manual or even Vert Shock, you can definitely get more value out of these vertical jump programs rather than sticking to a program like Boingvert.
BoingVert would not be MY choice personally but everybody deserves to have their own opinion and I can see where this program may be good for some people. I just feel like there are other vertical jump programs out there that are just better. The Jump Manual is just more well-rounded and it just feels like a better program. I would rather spend more money on a program like Vert Shock than go cheap with BoingVert.
If you are looking for a vertical jump program that is more refined and comprehensive. Then The Jump Manual is the program for you. The Jump Manual is just more well-rounded and it just feels like a better program. I would rather spend more money on a program like The Jump Manual than go cheap with BoingVert.
If you are looking for a program that does not require weights and a program that will offer you VERY QUICK results. Vert Shock is another option you need to look at. Vert Shock is arguably the best vertical jump program out there.
Overall, I just don’t see why I should try BoingVert when there are better alternatives out there like Vert Shock and The Jump Manual. Now this does not mean you shouldn’t decide to choose BoingVert. The program isn’t bad and it is also VERY CHEAP. You just need to decide what is best for you. Like I said though, if you are willing to spend more, look at the other alternatives.
